I have come to terms with the fact that, I like Lady GaGa’s music. It’s a sad realization, but none-the-less, true. Here’s a funny parody of the song “Telephone” by above mentioned artist. I hope that you laugh as hard as I did. God Bless our troops, who do so much for us with such little appreciation. Try to have a great time guys, I know that it’s difficult in the middle of a war in a desert. Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

Love….What an amazing thing!

Tonight, a good friend posted something on her blog about love, and not just love, but true love. It got me thinking about al the times that Emilie and I would sit out in the car along the curb in front of either her or my house, and would talk for hours and hours. We would talk about everything and anything, and we never ran out of things to talk about.  I’ve noticed that since the addition of Nicholas to our little family, and now with little Caleb, that we don’t have time, or make time, for such great talks. Our first kiss was on one-such-a-night. How well we got to know each other during those talks.

Love is so amazing. Not the love that you see in the movies that is motivated by sex and lust, but TRUE love. The kind of love that inspires you to go outside and dance in the rain, or pull your love into your arms while wrapped in a blanket watching the soft falling snow and the peaceful sound that accompanies it while sipping from a warm mug of hot chocolate. The kind of love that makes you so excited to go home and just get a smile as you walk in the door. I am happy to say, that I am blessed with just such a love. God knew what he was doing when he made true love.

To Emilie, I love you!

Pictures…As Promised

This week has been a week fraught with frustration, joy, tears, laughter, fear, and most importantly, lots of love.

Sunday morning dawned bright and clear as Emilie and I made our way up the University Hospital. Due to some concern with PIH (Pregnancy Induced Hypertension) and Pre-Eclampsia, Em’s OB decided to induce her at week 37 which was officially on Sunday. Upon examination, Emilie was dilated to a 2 and was 70% effaced. The Pit was started at about 9:15, and the adventure began.

Every 2 hours, an exam would come and nothing would happen. She remained a 2 and 70% until about 1PM when she was told she was a 4 and 80%. At 3PM, she was a 5+, and that is where she stayed. At about 7:45PM, one of the residents came in to do an exam and said that she was still at a 5 and that the baby was facing one of her hips. They predicted it would take HOURS before he was able to turn so that he was facing downwards. Around 8:10PM, Emilie’s dad and I gave her a blessing and at 8:20PM, Emilie felt the worst contraction yet (this says a lot seeing how she had an epidural). The doctor came in and said that he needed to check her again because her contractions were hard and the baby’s heart rate kept dropping. He checked and yelled, “She’s complete! Let’s have a baby.”

She was told to start pushing at 8:26PM, and at 8:30PM (4 pushes later), Caleb Zachary Jones was born!

Here are some albums of Caleb’s stay in the hospital.

The Petting Zoo

Nick and his cousins (minus Kaden, since he had school to attend to) went to the petting zoo at Gardner village on Thursday the 17th. In some of the pictures, you’ll notice how Nick is bending over to “look” at the animals. Well, he wasn’t so much “looking” at the animals, as he was talking to the animals.

He loved riding the pony and wanted to go a second time. I think that in addition to our own little Dr. Doolittle, we may have a little cowboy as well. We’ll have a cowboy doctor in the family. The possibilities are endless….
